I know pretty much everyone has gotten one of those letters or emails telling them that they may be able to take part in a class action lawsuit for one reason or another. I’ve gotten them many times but just recently I got one that caught my eye.
Unlike most messages this one didn’t come from the spam folder; that makes it pretty noteworthy from the start. I took the risk and opened it to find that it was a notice of a lawsuit against a company that I did truly have an account with that let some personal info get stolen. I read the info, did some research and found that it was a legit case, so I filled out all the forms and such and kind of forgot about it until the other day when around $35 hits my bank account that I wasn’t expecting. Turns out they settled and did indeed split the settlement among everyone that filed (after the lawyers and such took their cut of course).
Not a lottery win or anything like that, but it was enough to get some new socks and underwear which is way more of a blessing than you might imagine in my situation.
